Yes, our next stop is going to Edinburgh in Scotland.
Preparations to move have begun.
Fortunately, as i work in a bank I have the option of getting a transfer to the branches in Edinburgh. I had applied for one, got an interview call and headed of to Edinburgh for a day trip to attend the interview. It’s an hour flight from Cambridge. For the first time it seemed like I had breakfast in England, Lunch in Scotland and got back to England for Dinner 🙂
Just when I landed in Edinburgh and got out of the airport, I saw this huge board :
I immediately clicked a picture and whats-aped it to J, stating that this city is literally going to be our home for the next few years and that’s exactly what i see as soon as I enter.
The first view of the city seemed appealing. There were busses, trams and a busy city life that unfolded. It was less crowded than London but more happening than the place where we live in Cambridgeshire. Being brought up in Bangalore, lived in Singapore and a city life is something I’m most attracted to. Edinburgh seemed to fit the bill.
The Airport is less than 30 min taxi ride from the city centre. International flights depart from there as well, so that means our trip to India becomes less complicated than from Cambridge. I remember spending 4 hours on the road just to get to the London Heathrow Airport followed by a 16 hour journey to Bangalore, last August.
Hoping M gets to join Guitar classes and swimming classes with ease at Edinburgh, as compared to the remote village we live in Cambridge. He was talking of Guitar Classes today and said that’s what will make him happy.
The results to my interview are expected first week of April, after which home hunting and the school hunting process at Edinburgh begins. Long list of To-Do things awaits.
Edinburgh ! We are coming !
